Where a post-secondary and research institution has committed academic dishonesty in the knowing and willful theft and wrongful conversation of intellectual property, how serious a sanction should there be against the faculty members involved and the academic institution that permit the conduct? Or should it be a matter that is forgiven, and overlooked even where the intellectual property stolen, has been and continues to be used by the institution’s students to gain an unfair advantage over students at other institutions when applying to graduate school, law schools, medical schools, and procuring research grants, and Fulbright Scholarships?
